PSAT Test Tutoring

PSAT (formerly called the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test or the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment test) is designed to be taken in 10th or 11th grade, which is usually 1-2 years prior to the SAT. Although the PSAT Test and the SAT Test share similar content and question types, there are important differences. The PSAT Test does not include an essay, the math is not as advanced, and the entire test is a little more than half as long as the SAT Test. Scores attained on the PSAT Test will not necessarily be comparable to SAT Test scores.

SAT Test Tutoring

The SAT Test is a popular college admissions test. High school juniors and seniors take the SAT Test as an application requirement. The SAT Test has ten sections which fall into three categories: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. The Critical Reading section has a combination of fill-in-the-blank vocabulary questions plus reading passages with comprehension questions. The math sections cover Algebra I and Geometry topics with some Algebra II concepts. The Writing section has three types of grammar questions and a short essay.

ACT Test Tutoring

Students on the east and west coasts more commonly take the SAT Test while those in the rest of the country take the ACT Test. However, some students opt to take the ACT Test rather than the SAT Test. The ACT Test consists of four multiple-choice sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science with an optional essay. The English segment contains questions about rhetoric and grammar. The Math segment includes topics through Algebra II with some elementary trigonometry. The ACT Test includes Reading passages with comprehension questions. The Science segment does not require prior knowledge of scientific facts or content, but rather asks students to understand descriptions of various experiments. Students read tables, charts, and brief descriptions of a variety of experiments and answer questions based on the provided information.
